HP15C emulator or simulator
Message #1 Posted by Silvia on 16 June 2004, 3:24 a.m.

Hi guys,

This is my first post here. Please, do not offend if I have missed the topic, or this is not the right place to ask the following question.

Trying to find a HP15C (or a HP41, in fact any scientific HP RPN calculator) emulator (or simulator) for my HP Jornada 710, I have been wandering and searching along and across the Web, but with no final result.

The Jornada built in Omnisolve is not a good calculator at all. For instance, it gives erroneus results if I use polar/rectangular conversion, which I need a lot.

The HP48 emulator is not a good solution for me, as I am used to RPN, not to RPL.

Hope somebody would help me to find a good enough RPN calculator for my HP 710.

Thank you.

Hi,

this may sound too patched together, but you can also run HrastProgrammer's 41 emulator on the emu48 emulator on your Jornada! And, because EMU48 uses kml scripts with bitmap "skins" you can actually make up a "skin" that looks more like the 41 so that it feels right--you will never even need to use the 48 RPL except to turn it on and off.

Begards,

Bill

I think this the best!

Please, follow this link. You'll get the exact HP15C with much more memory and faster!

http://www.lygea.com/pocket15cdetail.htm

It works in my Toshiba E-740 (Strong ARM).

GOOD LUCK!

It is not "exact", as it's a simulator, not an emulator. So there are differences both in functionality and in numeric results.

That said, it certainly is the best available and mimics the HP-15C extremely well, with clear advantages in speed and memory. Highly recommended.

Best regards from V.
