Tapes for HP 82121A
Message #1 Posted by Artur - Brazil on 11 June 2004, 6:37 p.m.

Hello I've just bougth the mass storage unit for HP41 and, as I don't have the tape for it and its price is something high in Ebay, I would like ask your help in taking the measures of the original tape: the case - heigth, width, deep, distance between center of holes. The tape itself - the width. I'll try to make my own tapes.

Some pictures would be of helpfull.

By the way, has anyone tryed the old answering machines tapes or the mini-cassetes for mini-recorderes in the HP units? Should this be possible to use them? Or the data tapes used for backup in computers systems?

Take a while and visit my site: www.elibertas.com.br , link "Tecnologia". Thank you very much

Data cassettes and standard microcassettes use different cases. No way to make them compatible. You can fix a bad data casette with tape from a microcassette. Watch out for leader type, reflective foil, and being/end of tape holes.
