Upgrade Memory HP48G+ with 128kb Ram card

My question is , just for knowing, I have done 2 uprgades to my 48G+, bnut now I have a friend of mine that needs an upgrade and he has a 128kb memory card, i just have soldered an 74hc00 in its correct place, can I solder directly the 40 pins from the card to the 40 pins of the HP. Is it so simple?
