Calculator stores in Germany/Austria?
Message #1 Posted by Eduardo on 29 June 2003, 6:18 p.m.

Hi,

I'm visiting Austria (Graz) next week, and Germany the week after (Frankfurt, Koblenz, maybe more). Is there any hope I can find better prices or more variety of (collectable) HP calculators during my trip? Flea markets, electronics stores or other sources? Any help/suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks!

Eduardo

Hi Eduardo,

my experience (for Germany) is that on flea markets, HP calcs are rare, and those office suppliers who actually had one or more of the more interesting calcs, wanted to sell them at the regular prices...

However, this way I got a NIB 14B a few years ago.

At least in Frankfurt should be some office suppliers, which you could try.

AFAIK the electronics shops here in Germany don't carry HP calcs at all.

Regards,

Raymond

BTW: Did your friend in Koblenz send you a mail?

I was able to find an HP 22S at a flea market in Bitburg for 5 euros. It was dusty but it actually worked. I have been to literally hundreds of flea markets since I have been stationed in Germany and this is the only the 2nd HP calc I have seen. I did find 28S manuals in German at a flea market in Homburg Saar but alas no calc to go with them. So, I would have to agree with Raymond that HP calcs at flea markets are quite rare. I would go farther and say practically non-existant. Almost forgot, found a non-functional 32E in Kaiserslautern for 3 euros.

So, not much hope altogether...?

Thanks for your replies. I won't keep my hopes too high.

Eduardo
