Key Click
Message #1 Posted by Howard on 18 May 2003, 1:58 p.m.

Does anybody know how to put the click back into the keys of HP Calculators. My HP65 barely clicks at all on the 0-9 keys most probably from use. The other keys have the normal crisp click.

MOst likely your HP65 key strips have developed vertical splits on the left hand side of each place whre the strip rises up into the key "dome" contact. Onlt fix is VERY drastic and not at all easy to pull off properly. You must find another machine with good click (an HP35 or 45 will do), slice the key strips off the keyboards, and transplant the good ones onto the HP65 keyboard. The old strips were spot welded in place. You need to solder the new ones down.
