Luiz, James, JFYI: I finally succesfully upgraded my HP49G to OS 1.19-6 :-) Looks great, works great! Many thanks to you both for recommending and encouraging me to eventually upgrading!

Best Wishes from Germany, Juergen

Hi, Juergen;

Good news! And it means your 49G is working fine so far, right?

Thank you for sharing the good news. I think many of us in here (I'm surely included) get these good news as the reason for all what happens at the MoHPC. Also, thank you, Dave; what else would allow people in different, far countries, to help each other with their HP calculators the way we do... without leaving home?

Best regards, Juergen; be sure many others are satisfied and ready to help the same way. I'm honored.

Hi Luiz!

Right! It's great! 1.18 can't by no means compare with 1.19-6. All those extra features. And the new CAS is really much better (now it's really FUN to follow Nicks Mathematical Marathons). I'm absolutely enthusiatic about this OS! And it's stable (as far as I can judge it), James were right!

Me too, Luiz, sincerely me too!

Glad to read that it worked out well for both of you. As near as I can figure out, HP decided that revision 1.18 was "good enough" and no more time and money should be spent on it, but some of the developers kept working on it on their own time.

I assume that the problem with IF structures is cured too. The only thing that I can figure is that somehow the operating system was corrupted before you got the calculator.

Regards,
James

Hi James!

>I assume that the problem with IF structures is cured too.

Right! Everything's working perfectly well ...

> The only thing that I can figure is that somehow the operating system was corrupted before you got the calculator.

I agree, espec. because I did encounter other strange things with this OS like "transporting" of the seperator-line (the line seperating the the status area from the stack, you know) when scrolling a program ... odd! But now everything's fine! Thanks again!

Best Wishes, Juergen (GER)
