Thinkjet battery dutch auction Message #1 Posted by Ellis Easley on 15 Apr 2003, 10:25 p.m. I learned an interesting lesson. Since it looked like there wouldn't be many bids and the price would be $4, I decided to bid on some more lots. First I tried to bid on 6 at $8, thinking it would be in addition to my previous bid (4 at $20) and I would get a total of 10, but the system said 4X20 is more than 6X8, so no go - try again. Then I tried bidding on 10 at $8 and it said 4X20 is more than or equal to (might have said that before and I didn't notice) 10X8 - try again. So then I tried 10 at $8.01 and that replaced my original bid. Apparently the system just won't allow a lower total dollar bid.
