Decade Anniversaries
Message #1 Posted by Masao Kinoshita on 18 Mar 2003, 5:05 p.m.

Does anybody know if HP sold merchandise to celebrate the HP 35's 30th Anniversary?

I just got my IBM ThinkPad 10th Anniversary jacket. (What can I say? NASA took ThinkPads into space, right?)

And next year is the 20th Anniversary for Casio's first Data Bank watch, the CD-401/40. Fossil is scheduled to introduce their Palm OS PDA watch this summer and Microsoft SPOT watches this fall.

Oh yeah, and Pontiac will reintroduce their GTO* on its 40th Anniversary! :-) * not short for "go to" in this case (I'm sorry, couldn't resist. HP used to use Pontiac's GTO in their calculator ads a long time ago.)

I think even HP would be embarrased at the prospect of releasing a 30th Anniversary labeled Kinpo. I think the only thing that would make any sense would be a 30th Anniversary 12C.

I think they should do like the rest of us and stay at 29.
