HP 11C won't display

Old faithful 11C won't display. I replaced the batteries with new but it was acting kinda sick. It would only display after the on button was pressed several times.
I opened the back cover and found 1 plastic post broken off. this was krazy glued back in place. The lcd would go on if I moved the flat ribbon that connects it to the rest of the calculator. I noticed the ribbon and a cork backed rubber bar was out of place. I put it together with the bar pressing on the ribbon but LCD still not working. How is the ribbon for LCD supposed to connect to rest of calculator?
