HP 97 calculator
Message #1 Posted by Debbie Scheibner on 27 Jan 2003, 3:43 p.m.

I need help with a HP 97 Calculator adapter. I have taken the battery pack into "Battery Plus" and had them recharge the batteries. They informed me that the adapter is no good. I cannot locate a adapter. Radio Shack had only 7.5 and 9.0 adapters. They said that I need a 8 VAC and nothing else would work. The guy said is I could locate a adapter that is equal in voltage, I could cut the end of the plug off the old adapter and wire it on the new adapter. Can you help me concerning the adapter and let me know if I could use the 7.5 or 9.0 and not hurt the calculator. Thank you, Debbie Scheibner 1-800-342-7458

Hi.

Tony Duell is the person to ask about this.... I think any 8v AC supply would work, but it shouldn't deliver more than 500 ma current or so..

I have a better idea, though. Give me your address and I'll mail you one that works perfectly. (I have extras of these, as they've been included with HP-71B's, when I usually run them on batteries anyway....)

Michael
