Corrosion Cleaning Fluid

I am advised the the best cleaner for battery leakage is ammonia. Seems to reduce the residue that alcohol leaves behind. Anyone have different experience?

Good idea... but reaction in contact with mylar?!
To fix battery contacts on HP-41 I use silver paint (for rear window on a car for instance).

For the white powder leakage from batteries, I use white vinegar. For the green copper oxidation I use isopropyl alcohol and a contact cleaner made by Caig called a Gold Pen and/or their DeOxit pen.
