HP-29C Message #1 Posted by Larry Smith on 17 Jan 2003, 3:50 p.m. My HP-29C went dead recently. When turned on all the LED segments would flash dimly, with just one digit near the right end being a somewhat brighter 0. Randy Sloyer noted that this often indicates a blown battery pack, but I swapped packs with my HP-25 and the 25 is happy with both of them. He recommended David Smith as someone able to repair woodstocks. Anyone here know how I can get in touch with him? regards, Larry Smith

In all cases it was the battery pack, or battery connection. Sometimes just applying finger pressure to the outside of the pack would fix the problem. I think you have a battery problem, either with a bad pack or a bad connection. If you feel comfortable doing it, I'd try powering it up from a regulated power supply. Or if you don't mind a bit of damage, carefully cut open the battery pack and try a new pair of AAs. Good Luck! Larry
