But the seller is right: The 16C box seems to be very hard to find. I'd given not exactly that much, but a reasonable amount for that box, regarding the good shape it's in.

Looks like another for him? I know the ZENROM's are worth a few bucks, but $565.00 ? Take out the $200 or so for the CX and reader and that's an awfully expensive module and manual.

Looks like he put in a really high proxy bid, and someone else wanted it almost as much as him... ouch.

It's not just 'take out the $200 or so for the CX and reader and that's an awfully expensive module and manual'.

First of all, a mint, like-new HP-41CX is worth more than $200 by itself. Then, a similar card reader is worth a lot, too. And further, they're not the only items included in the deal, you also get an Advantage ROM, all manuals, several extra, valuable books, and a lot of mag cards.

Assuming everything works Ok, just by the sheer quantity and quality of the items and their looks, I think it's a bargain. Just reselling the items individually could get you much more than $565 right now, who knows how much more in a near future, IMO.

I have seen ZENROMS sell for $400. They are VERY rare and only one or two show up in a year. Still it is a lot of bucks for the package...

Actually that is a reasonable price for a 16C box, etc. The bare machine with manual can be found for around $250 in like new shape. Rarely do really nice boxed machines sell for less than $400. I have seen them bring well over $500. Never underestimate the value of a pretty package.
