I think the thickest things in the 48G/G+ are the batteries and the capacitor. I've been meaning to make a low-profile mock-up by moving those to a tube along the left side of the calculator, and installing a homemade back. (Like lots of things, easy to talk about, something else to get around to.)

I've often mused that HP could make a few extra $$ simply by putting out a "landscape mode" HP-48. Move the keys in the trig row & below to the right of the screen, use a slim lithium ion rechargable, max out the memory, and maybe speed things up a bit. (The HP-48GII . . . ) Minimal investment and a whole new batch of sales?

But of curse (pun intended), no such thing is to be . . .
