Connecting HP-48 to HP-IL
Message #1 Posted by User48 on 8 Jan 2003, 7:32 a.m.

Is it possible to connect HP-48 to the HP-IL loop (HP-41, HP-71, ...) via RS-232 interface? What is needed on each side?

You might be able to do it with the 82164a hpil-rs232 adapter. You can get the manual to that buy purchasing the CD set offered on this site.

It would probably be easiest with the 71b...with the 41 you'll most likely need the "extended i/o" rom as well.

I once heard that there was actually an hpil rom for the 48 (it actually plugged into one of the 48's 2 slots). I've never seen one though.
