HP LED Demo Unit?
Message #1 Posted by Larry Corrado on 6 Jan 2003, 10:48 a.m.

An "HP LED Demo Unit in HP-45 Calculator Body" just went for $305 on ebay (#1948283395). What is this? What is it used for?

Just curious. Larry

Just what it says. It was a unit that could show working LED products that HP sold. Turn the switch and a different LED lights. Probably even has some in the display area.

I doubt that you'll ever see another on eBay. They have to be very rare.

I had a conversation with a former HP Manager, component division. He claims these units were given to their sales folks and their distributors. His guess, they would have made as many as 400 of these. Most were probably trashed.
