HP-75 Beeper Question
Message #1 Posted by Mike on 13 Dec 2002, 2:14 a.m.

I have come across several HP-75 over the past couple of years that were mounted with the Expansion Pod.

All of these have had the speaker removed, and wires run out to an earphone connector.

Now, I have taken the speakers out of trashed 75 and replaced the speaker in 75 that were previously installed inside the pods.

In all of these, there is a background noise (hiss) after the beep command is executed. This noise is continually present, after the beep. Only powering down and then back on, turns it off. I have seen this in almost every case where I replaced the speaker (one from a trashed 75).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Was there some other modification that was done for these expansion pod that requires more than just replacing the speaker? What is causing this background noise? Could it be a damaged component inside the 75 as a result of using the earphone connection?

Thanks

No answer to your question, but another one: Could it be that you placed the same question a few days ago?

Why do you answer questions with non-responsive replies? Just curious. Are you really interested if I posted this before?
