Hp 12 c
Message #1 Posted by Steve Lawson on 11 Dec 2002, 9:45 a.m.

I installed new batteries in my HP 12 C and now a small 'c' shows in the lowere right hand part of the screen and the numeric display shows one thousand and fifty dollars to look like: 1.050,00

How do I change it back??????

Hi;

to remove the snmall "c" use the sequence: [STO][EEX]. It toggles the 'c' on and off (odd periods in compund interest TVM being considered or not).

Tp change dot for period - say, 1.050,00 to 1,050.00 - switch calculator OFF, press and hold [.] key, while [.] is pressed switch it to ON, then release [.] key. This also toggles periods to dot

It should work. %

I can't believe it! The first time I used this thread, I found the answer in the first message I opened! How often does that happen?

Having purchased my HP-12C in the mid-80s, it laid dormant for most of the 90's until I very recently replaced the batteries, at which time, it came up with the comma as the thousands separator. Having search high and low to no avail for the original manual (I have the box and case, but no manual - go figure), I used it in that state until a few minutes ago.

Thank you very much for supplying the answer to this vexing problem.

Sorry, Folks;

sometimes it seems something weird happens and messages appear in double. The first one is always part of the complete message, that appears in second.

I always try to remove the first, incomplete one, but delete passowrd never matches and both remain.

Hope you don't mind...
