I don't have an answer to your question but I have a comment that applies to this thread:
I also bought a 75D in a power pod and it had the speaker removed and the wires coming out to a port. I haven't tried repairing it because I see it as a possible I/O feature. When you use the BEEP command with a particular frequency, this signal comes out of the two wires (of course). Well, this opens up some possibilities for using the once speaker output for output. I wonder if that's why it was done in the first place?
