1982 Commemorative Calendar
Message #1 Posted by Bob Nelson on 20 Nov 2002, 10:37 p.m.

I was extremely into HP-41 calculators in the 1980's. Recent acquisitions on Ebay have allowed me to fix my very early serial number 41CV with new battery connections and renew some of the pleasure that I found using these calulators before. I have a very large format 18" x 16" 1982 commemorative HP calculator calendar. It represented the ten year anniversary of the first scientific calcultor, the HP-35. I was curious as to whether others also had this calendar. The large, colorful drawings showing the various calculators being used on the shuttle, at fhe America's Cup and Climbing Everest, etc., seem like something this site should have scanned for others to enjoy.

I had it (I paid for it!), and I suppose I may find it at my parents house, but have been unable to find it yet.

Your parents threw it out ;^) Well, hopefully not!

Are you able to scan it and make it available to this site? I'm we'd all love to see it.

While I think it is still at my parents house, I am not sure it will be esay to find. Even so, it is too large to scan; and I should be sure there are no copyright problems before scanning... Let's see if I can find it...

Hi Andrés,

Sure hope that you can find it, what about Bob? If the poster is really too big for the scanner, perhaps you should take a "digital" picture of it :-)

Regards,

Y K Wong.

Looking at upcoming calendar years it looks like this calendar will be in sync again for the years:

2010
2021
etc.

Hi Bob, please try to get it scanned or a digital photo taken with high resolution and post it here.
I am sure lots of us would love to see it.
Gordon.

After reading this tread, I dug up my calendar, which was obtained on eBay for $16.00. I wanted to scan it but it is too large. A graphics shop had the proper equipment but wanted too much for the job. Anyway, I took some (poor) digital photos of the item. Unfortunately, I fought with FrontPage 2002's photo gallery for the last week. I figured this would be an hour's project, right! To make this work, I had to list it in two pages: http://www.likeaclown.com/calendar1_6.htm and http://www.likeaclown.com/calendar7_12.htm. It's better than nothing.
