Seeking Repair of HP 42S
Message #1 Posted by Eduardo Garro on 23 Aug 2002, 3:46 p.m.

I've had my HP 42S for several years and recently I dropped it and the 7 keys on the right of the panel don't work. Any recomendations of reliable individuals that can repair this calculator.

Thanx,

Eduardo

Hi;

do you have any skills in Electronics, also handcraft work? If so, chances are you can get it repaired by yourself.

Let us know.

Success.

This is a fairly common failure mode. It seems to be caused by a bad connection between the keyboard and the CPU card. See Paul Broger's article in the Articles secton on the goty details of how to open the machine... it was not designed to be opened.
