Wrong 41's TTF file - please, read.
Message #1 Posted by Vieira, Luiz C. (Brazil) on 30 July 2002, 5:47 p.m.

Hello;

I must thank Mr. Chris Catotti for his concerns about the HP41 Character Set TTF file. He, and also Mr. Jose Goncalves and Mr. Thibaut, as others, have tested the font. But my attention was called from one of the guys who tested the font (please, I thought about not to identify you, as I did not ask if I could) because of one character, wrongly missed in the 41's TTF: Character # 223. This character has a reference to myself.

A few years ago I could see some TTF with one of its characters (closed to the highest positions) mentioning the name of the font's creator, and I thought that as a protection measure.

I just tried to see how would it look having a character built that way. And I forgot to remove it from the font(those who use Corel DRAW! to create TTF files know how boring it is sometimes to check, correct or change fonts).

ASAP, promise, I'll ask Dave again (yes, this is the second font I submit; this one is the result of an improvement) to substitute the previous font for the new one, no wrong characters (I'll double check). Also, the hangman characters are in wrong places. Their original codes are out of the TTF's character code range.

Some duplicate characters will be removed, and I'll find a better place for the flying goose...

Please, forgive-me. I was so glad using this font that I missed the chance to remove the bugs.

Thank you all for your patience and support. And keep suggesting, showing wrong spots, and the like. That's the best way to offer a better solution.

Best regards.
