Bearing to sunrise & sunset.
Message #1 Posted by r. d. bärtschiger. on 26 June 2002, 12:14 a.m.

Does anyone know of a program for the hp-48gx or hp-49, or alternately just an equation, which will allow the followinmg to be calculated?

Given a location on earth in degrees lat. & long. & the date, calculate the true bearing to where the sun will rise & set on that date. If the times of sunrise & sunset are also calculated, that would be even better.

I have checked the selection of programs available on hpcalc.org but did not find anything similar.

Thank you for any information you can offer.

A simple google search yields lots of results. This looked appropriate: http://personal.inet.fi/cool/jjlammi/stuff.html

there's a basic program on Sky and Telescopes web page that does but you'd have to translate it.
