i have seen some 32sII's with a siler border around the display are these the ones with the blue lillac color scheme? mine has a brown border and orange/light blue color scheme

please advise

Yes, the silver border has the green/lilac color keys.

FWIW, I have both and prefer the older scheme, personally.

The only issue I can see with respect to quality is that I know the keys on the newer (silver) units are printed keytops. I don't have my older 32sii here to check, but I suspect pre Indonesia units propably have double-shot tops (where the number/symbol is molded in). This was one of the HP calculator hallmarks of quality which disappeared with the move.
