LaserJet 3330 MFT software
Message #1 Posted by Rick S on 4 June 2002, 2:20 a.m.

There are two software programs that come with the HP LaserJet 3330, one for scanning and one for faxing, that I have questions about.

On the scanning software, you can scan an image into HPs HP Doc program (HP Document Image Viewer), which give several image editing features. But you can only save the image in HPs proprietary format, which apparently won't allow you to import or insert the document into any other program, since they don't recongnize this unique format.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to import or insert an HP Doc image into, for example, Microsoft Word?

On the fax software, the HP Fax Cover Page Editor, this software is very limited and not very easy to use. Are there any updates? Documentation? Why is it they don't have a special field for the recipients telephone number? Can special fields be added? Any suggestions? Upgrades to this software?

Thanks.

I've owned three low-end scanners over the years (first was a handleld type that scanned a 4 inch stripe) and they all used the Twain software interface. If your machine is working through a Twain driver, you should be able to select it as the source in any application that knows about scanners. I just remembered that my HP camera also uses a Twain driver, I can use it as the source with the application software that HP provided or with the software that came with my scanner.
