Length of 34C battery pack?
Message #1 Posted by karl schneider on 20 Apr 2002, 9:04 p.m.

HP-34C users --

I have yet to get my hands on a real battery pack designed for the HP-34C -- I've only seen the photo in the MOHPC site. The pack consists of 2 flat-topped AA NiCd cells held together side-by-side in a small bracket and jumpered together in series at the non-terminal end.

Standard AA cells with posts on the + terminal might be just be a bit too long, even if jumpered with aluminum foil. They do fit tightly, but might put too much stress on the calc's fragile spring terminals.

Can anyone tell me the overall length of a proper HP-34C battery pack? This length should be measured from one of the exposed battery terminals to the outside edge of the jumpering bracket.

Thanks,
