hp12c leather case, Where do I find this? Message #1 Posted by jim koval on 27 Nov 2001, 3:55 p.m. I have lost my hp12c and its leather case. I have purchased a new 12c, however, I would love to find another really nice case. any ideas on where to find one?

I ordered some accessories from HP: a cable for $6, a user's guide for $1, a foldout instruction sheet for $0.50, and the wrist strap for $0.11. Each item arrived in its own big padded envelope! No extra charge at all except sales tax. I've noticed that in general, items in the HP parts direct website cost a minimum of $6 (even individual screws) which I assume is because they always include shipping, I don't know why these camaera accessories were so cheap.

They are a mail order calculator and accessories company (succeding Educalc and Calculating Edge) in Oregon. I have bought from them several times, as well as having talked to its manager, Paul Nelson. Cases and holsters are on a menu on the website. Good luck!

The HP site has only the vinyl cover as shipped with the calculator. The CalcPro site has a leather cover for the HP-19BII but this is the wrong size. The case in question doesn't seem _that_ far off... There will be a little "wiggle room" in there. I can't say that I've tried carrying a 12C in the 19BII leather case, but it probably still beats the chintzy vinyl one! Bruce. p.s. Good cases are getting _very_ hard to find!

The accompanying vinyl slipcase of these calculators may not be able to fit with the calculator in the hard case. I do not have an HP12C to know if the HP12C will fit in this hard leather case. Another place that has durable neoprene cases with good belt clips (originally designed for photographic equipment, but I have used for calculators) is: Op/Tech USA 304 Andrea Drive Belgrade, MT 59714 Phone (888) 678-3244 website www.optechusa.com e-mail address: info@optechusa.com The large soft pouch (4" by 7" by 1.5") fits an HP48 graphing calculator comfortably. On occasions when I want to fill my car up with gas I put my HP20S and HP32SII in it (each still in their separate vinyl slipcases). The HP32SII is then used to multiply cost per gallon (e.g., $1.199 per gallon) by gallons filled per the pump (e.g., 11.702 gallons) to compute the cost (HP32SII is set to six decimal places). The HP32SII answer is then rounded to two decimal places. I subtract this figure from the amount I gave to the gas station attendant (e.g., $20). I then shut off the calculator and go to the attendant (the number is still saved). I have the HP20S as a backup if the HP32SII loses power. Also, check Specialed Products (SP) website www.specializedproducts.com under multimeter cases. The Fluke C90 softcase is padded and fits my second HP48GX with room for extra plug in cards and pocket guides. These cases They come in a variety of sizes. You can even call SP for assistance.

This suggests that one might look at PDA cases to find a calculator case substitute.

Your idea of a PDA case for a Voyager works the other way round too. My new Jornada 568 fits so perfectly into the (vinyl) case of my 16C that it's as if they had been made for each other. I quite fancy getting a leather case for the Jornada and it seems to me that a calculator case won't attract the same premium price as a case made for a new PDA.

Bruce Maguire II to bruce m; i take the same two calculators to the gas station and use the 32SII to calc the price too! but i just use the 20 to wipe off my hands before i get back in the truck. ok, i lied; i don't have a 20, but if i did i would. btw: now that i have chapter 5 of the book for my bargin 32SII, i like it even more. the regular old 32 has too much sentimental value to take to the gas station.

Also seems the D,E,F variants are for the clamshells, and therefore somewhat bigger. I have a brown one (not for sale;-) for the 12C, and it fits nicely. Raymond
