Hello;

In fact, there is no calculator still in production that directly runs 41's applications. Anyway, some possibilities are:

1-41's emulator that runs in any 48G or 49; there is also an available emulator that runs in a PCM card, but I believe this card is available only for the S-series (48S/SX)
2-using a 42S - off-production, but available at e-bay or at classified ads at this site
3-far from a solution, the 32SII will run a few applications if correctly converted. Some 41's programs can be reduced in some steps if specific 32S' features are invoked
4-if time is available, any program written to the 41 can be rewritten to the 48. Some will be shrunk, others will need a complete, new version, as programming structure for both is not completely equivalent.

If you need to run an HP41 program in another calculator, let us know. For sure someone will help.

Cheers

Why not just run them on a 41CV? They are widely available on Ebay, etc for (usually) almost reasonable prices (unlike the 42S ;).

I don't know...The 41s seem to be fetching about as much as the 42s. Must be a "41-revival". :-)

It is not all that difficult to find nice working 41C/CV/CX machines for around $100... usually a little more for the high end machines, a little less for the low end ones (it is also not difficult to pay twice that for them). What is rather strange is that 41CXs can often be had for less than the CV on Ebay.

It seems one has to part with 200 bucks to get a 42S anymore. I have seen new-in-box units go for over $400. Even broken ones bring $100.

One would have to pry by 41CX from my cold dead fingers... or wave a mighy wad of greenbacks under my warm capitalist pig nose to get mine.

I picked up a 41C with a number of modules (mem, math etc) from a Salvation Army OP Shop. It was AU$20 which is about US$10.

It happens.

Hey, I'm happy for you. Sincerely. Use the lady with care...

Cheers.

If no calc is fully compatible ith the 41C series, the 32SII can certainly run a program written for a 41 with some minor changes - all you need is to have reasonnable knowledge of programming on both calcs. Provided you don't invoke specific functions of ROM modules or direct memory addressing

A 32SII will run it faster and is quite reasonnable. In addition, this is the last "good old style calc" available on the market and is quite efficient.

Otherise proposed solutions such as purchasing C's and CV's are a good choice as they are widely available on ebay or on this site's ads corner at reasonnable price (<$100).

There's still another possibility:

You can run 41C programs on an HP-71B fitted with the 41C Emulator/Forth ROM. This will not only run all 41C programs without any translation from the user, but will also give a complete FORTH system for further expandability, not to mention all 71B capabilities and BASIC language. Besides, 41C programs will execute from 6 to 12 times faster than on a 41C/CV/CX.

You can get a used 71B on eBay almost for peanuts, and you can leave a message on the Classified Ads section asking for the 41C Emulator module.

I wish!

I have both an HP-71B and the HP41 emulation, but I do not have manual, so I can't use them :-(
