HP-85
Message #1 Posted by Viktor Toth on 18 May 2001, 7:06 a.m.

I've found that my recently acquired HP-85 not only has one rotting and one missing printer drive belt, but also a rotting drive wheel in its tape drive. Before I begin to experiment with repair, I thought I'd ask, has anybody else encountered this problem? Does anyone know of a reliable repair method for this tape drive unit?

Viktor

Check out the replacement belt section in www.russellind.com Their belts are intended for video and audio players, but should be good for a data drive too. They have some idler tires and wheels also, but it is often difficult to remove the original tires from a tape deck without breaking or warping the frame.
