HP-48g & 49g Processors
Message #1 Posted by Jonathan Hanna on 3 Oct 2001, 12:40 p.m.

Does anyone know what type and speed of processor is in the HP 48 and 49, or do you know of a web site where I can find the specs? Thanks.

Right here at this site and also very detailed specs at

http://www.finseth.com/~fin/hpdata.html

This is a great site and has all the answers to your questions.

However off the top of my head, both run at 4 MHz and use the same Saturn processor, Yorke series. (Hp proprietary CPU)

Both the HP48 series (i.e., G/GX/G+) and the HP6 use the Saturn CPU. However, the HP49G has its operating system written in assembly language, and as a result, runs much faster than the HP 48 series. More information on website www.hpcalc.org/hp49g.html.
