HP 28S Battery cover Probs and Dissasembly
Message #1 Posted by Todd Marcucci on 22 Dec 2000, 12:18 p.m.

Hi, all, just found the board and wanted to pick some brains:

I've got a 28S that's starting to develop what I've seen as a "typical" problem. It would appear that the battery springs are too stiff and eventually weaken and break the battery cover, rendering the calculator all but useless. I notice mine is starting to "bulge" and I'd like to stop it.

Has anyone dismantled one of these to replace or "shorten" the battery springs? I've looked at it and it doesn't appear straightforward.

If anyone else has this problem... please help!!!

Thanks,

Todd Marcucci tmarcucci@usa.net (please email me, so I'll know to check back!)
