HP-71B charger voltage
Message #1 Posted by Matthew Riehl (U.S.A.) on 28 Oct 2000, 7:32 p.m.

I just acquired an HP-71B. It's charger says it's rated output is 8 volts AC but it is putting out 11.5 to 12 volts (unloaded and not plugged in).

Is this normal? I'd like to make sure before I plug it in. Thanks.

Without a load, this is a normal reading... it's not really "regulated" as such-- it's just a transformer with an 8v secondary. I just have a 75d brick (82059D) in front of me... it is putting out 12.55vac with no load.
