Message #1 Posted by Ulisse Quadri on 11 Oct 2000, 9:26 a.m.

I have a problem: connectind a standard printer (Epson stylus color 500) with my HP86, the printer blok and rumble, also if the computer is off. I think are a cable problem but don't have a solution. Please help me. Thanks

The HP-86 and Epson Printers are not compatable. You need to utilize an HP-IB dot matrix printer for the HP-86 computer (it predates the centronics parallel interface) There may be ways around this but they do not connect directly

This is partly true. The needle printers solde by HP for the 80'series were actually made by Epson. The one I still have has a centronics connector and a HP IB port. The printer works with both! Regards, Jan
