Message #1 Posted by Todd Garabedian on 10 Oct 2000, 2:43 p.m.

It was announced today that Jack Kilby of Texas Instruments will share the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physics. For those of you that don't know, Kilby was one of the pioneers of the integrated circuit, and a co-inventor of the pocket calculator!!

The TI website has a good biography of this influential man: http://www.ti.com/corp/docs/kilbyctr/jackstclair.shtml

The Nobel website has the press release: http://www.nobel.se/announcement/2000/physics.html
