Oops! Power wiring question on 67
Message #1 Posted by Mike Davis on 8 Oct 2000, 4:32 p.m.

I was carefully disassembling the card drive and I did not realize that the power in from the 3 pin connection, was friction fit.

The wires popped out of their connections and I'm not sure which goes to which contact. There is a red/white and a black/white. Which of these goes to the back contact (toward the back of 67) and which goes to the front (toward the front of the 67)?

Thanks

Mike,

On the 67 card reader interface board:

The red power lead goes furthest back, the black power lead is in front of that. After that (going back to front) is the black motor wire then the red motor wire. Further forward are the leads from the tape head in the following order:

Blue (off to the side), black, yellow, red and orange off to the other side of the red lead.

Thanks but the wires I am talking about are not on the interface board.

They are the two wires that come from the charger connector.

There is a white-red wire connected to the third terminal on the charger connector (opposite from the Red wire).

There is a white-black that is connected to the center pin on that same connector.

These two wires go to the board that the LED display is mounted on. There are two small pin connectors in the corner, right next to a transistor. Both connections are friction fit.

Which goes to which?

Mike
