Classic series back label removal
Message #1 Posted by John Robinson on 14 Aug 2000, 8:01 p.m.

I have an alternative method to removing the back label of a classic series for calc repair. I just removed the back label from my HP65 without damaging it. Everything you need is in your bathroom cupboard. I used some (well actually alot) of isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) a toothpic with a flat end, and some dental floss (2 feet). Using the flat end of the toothpick (wood is softer than metal - doesn't scratch) gently lift a corner so that you could put the dental floss underneath. Gently work back and forth and apply alot of isopropanol as you go. About three hours later, you have the label off. I then gently rolled it with a small glass bottle to flatten it again, as it will flex somewhat during removal.
