All Bug HP-41C
Message #1 Posted by Hugo on 10 July 2000, 9:13 a.m.

I remember that there was a discussion long time ago about the All Bug 41C... How can I know if I have an all bug version, which test do I need to make?? and what are the bug related to the 41C.

S/N : 1944xxxxxx

Thanks

To test if you have an "all bug" 41 do this:

49

Sto 01

Sf Ind 01

If the BAT comes on then you have bug... um... 3. That one was fixed _real_ quick, and having it pretty much means you have the lot!

Bug 2 allows you to Rcl Ind nn and Sto Ind nn registers that are larger than the number you have (e.g. 800). Playing with this (especially sto) can be a little exciting :-)

If your HP41's serial number is 1926 to 1940 then you probably have all bugs. 1936 to 1952 had bug 3 removed (note that there is some overlap). 1951 to 2034 has 1, 2, & 4 removed. Finally 2035 onward have 5 7 and 8 fixed.

The overlap is there because HP didn't just switch over immediatly to a new rom version. it took time for the parts to "filter through"

Check out the following web address:

http://www.finseth.com/~fin/hpdata/hp41c.html

It lists the bugs and when they were fixed for the 41C series.
