What is a HP-65 LP-18
Message #1 Posted by Mike Mori on 24 June 2000, 5:44 p.m.

Hello all,

I just recently purchased an HP-65 with a front edge label that reads HP-65 LP-18. Unfortunatly, the unit does not have a S/N or back label. Does anyone know what this is?

Last night I disassembled the unit and compared the insides to the HP-65 article in the HP Journal. The boards look like earlier revs than the photos in the article. The board and chip date codes are mid 1972. There are also a couple of 30 gauge wire mods on the back of the main board. This came from a garage sale a couple of miles from the old HP Pruneridge site. There were a bunch of HP journals and a pile of empty HP binders. So I assume this person worked at HP. Unfortunatly, I didn't get a chance to talk to the seller.
