Hello! ---- I just wanted to add my 2 cents to the discussion concerning buying and selling HP calculators on eBay. I have dealt with several of the people who regularly contribute to the MoHPC Forum, and have NEVER had any bad transactions. The HP collectors seem to be a very honest group of people! I rarely buy on eBay, however, 'cause the prices are too high; I can do better patrolling the thrift stores and some selected dumpsters. For general information, here's my "scientific" approach for finding reasonable HP gear: 1) I located (on a USGS topo map) all of the industrial research sites that existed from 1960 to 1990 in the Pittsburgh, PA area, and marked them with a black headed pin. then, 2) I located all of the closest thrift stores to these sites, and marked with a red headed pin. 3)I devised the easiest route on the map so as to easily hit them all once a week. It payed off; just found a really nice HP 41CV, that worked, for $1.99, and a 35, with manual and extra battery packs for $3.19. I'd be interested in hearing of other HP hunting techniques from you out there! eBay just isn't any fun ---- it lacks the mystery of "what can I find this week", at a reasonable price!

Excellent use of grey matter! I will probably not be that involved but I must admit, you have the best researched cheap method I have ever heard of.

I though I was doing good when I found a fully functional 15c with case and manual at a pawn shop for $20! Randy
