I/O address of HP82973 HPIL-PC Interface Card
Message #1 Posted by Jan Buitenhuis on 5 June 2000, 2:59 a.m.

I still have a HPIL interface for the PC (HP 82973). However the manual is long gone. The interface has dip switches to set its I/O address. Factory default was 1700h. I have no idea what the present setting is on my card. Can anyone tell me how to set the I/O address on this card? Thanks Jan

From memory the drivers I downloaded from the internet had the settings as part of an enclosed document.

Just wait while I check...

OOOH! I have it!

The document should appear in an inbox near you!

You probably have received the manual that Steve sent you by now, but I thought that I would add something. The DIP switches that control the I/O address mask different bits in the two versions of the card that I have; in the 82973A, bits A10-A3 are used (sure), but in the 82973C, it is bits A12-A5 (if my memory serves me right). This info is actually printed in the pc board.
