HP41 ROM
Message #1 Posted by Chan Tran on 3 Mar 2000, 9:54 a.m.

I wonder if there is a way that to get ROM image out of my several HP41's and ROM Modules in order to use them on the emulator? Do HP have them available some where? The HP48G ROM is posted on HP web site why not the 41. HP won't make any money out of the 41 any more (Not that they can't, they don't want to in my opinions)

At http://www.furlow.org/HP41C.shtml, the site of Virtual 41 (HP41 emulator) there is the file HP-41 ROMs (65K) available for download. ROM files are also packed in the HP41 Microcode Emulator available at http://www.geocities.com/hrastprogrammer. For the use with other emulators, they might need to be renamed: for example, I used the hp41cv.rom file in order to test the Emu41 HP41 emulator by J.F. Garnier, available at http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/2000, just renaming it rom41cv.bin. The relevant instructions explain also how to make a rom dump and what hardware is needed.

You can find ROM images at: http://www.dodin.net/ppct/rom/pagerom.htm If you own a HP48 or HP49, you could try the excellent 41 emulators at: http://www.geocities.com/hrastprogrammer/ which were written by a friend (ROM are included).
