42s power

My beloved 42s now sometimes takes a couple of 'pokes' of the on button to fire up. Am I doomed?

You have to Poke it to turn it on -- Poke them on -- poke-em-on -- Pokemon!!!!

Watch it -- your HP42 is about to turn into a juvenile card game/collecting/money making machine.

But seriously, it may just be wear and tear on the button. HP41's suffer the same fate, with the ON button wearing out in many cases.

Are you doomed? No -- well not from this anyway.

Is your HP42S doomed? Yes. But not immediatly. You might try contacting HP in Australia and try to get a replacement.

Years ago the guys that developed the first surveying data collectors based on the beloved hp 41 suggested that you "tap" the keys to make the program run faster. Hype perhaps to sell you another?
