HP-41 Terminal Emulator
Message #1 Posted by Wayne Brown on 5 Sept 1999, 1:13 p.m.

Does anyone know if there was ever a terminal emulator written for the HP-41, similar perhaps to the various terminal programs for the HP 48? I don't need anything very elaborate -- just something that would send text back and forth through an HP-IL/RS232C interface, using the functions available in the HP-IL module and the Extended I/O module. Preferably, it would log all input and output through an attached 82143A printer, making it functionally equivalent to an old Silent 700 terminal. If no such beast exists, I may try my hand at writing one myself, just for the exercise. I just want something that I can use to send text to a modem or to a terminal emulator running on a PC or another calculator. File transfer would be nice, but not necessary (I can accomplish that in other ways).
