41CV locked in Prgm
Message #1 Posted by VinceC on 25 June 1999, 3:17 p.m.

I've got a 41CV that appears to be locked in prgm mode. I've tried all the standard methods to revive it (battery removal, on+CLA) but it inevitably relapses with a beep and presents the program execution cursor - stuck on the left of the display. Would anyone have any experience with this and can I recover the use of the calc?

The reset function for the newer -41's is pressing ON and Enter at the same time. If that does not work, try ON, enter, and CLX. If that does not work, and you are able to turn it off, do so, hold down the CLX key, and press and release the ON key, and then release the CLX key. If that does not work, remove the battery pack, and get a short wire (straightened paper clip works fine) and short the battery terminals. The press the ON key and the Enter Key simultaneously again. Don't put the batteries in until 24 hours later. If all of that does not work, then it may be bad. It could be tested with the diagnostic module, several active people on this forum have one.

Thanks Dan, but the advice seemed to have no effect - the calc still is stuck in prgm mode and I can turn it off only by removing the batteries.
