HP 41-C repair
Message #1 Posted by ray maxwell on 9 June 1999, 5:30 p.m.

I recently spilled coffee on my HP 41-C. I don't know how to open it up to clean out the gook. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I had a similar problem with an HP-41CX. I took it to the sink and flushed it with water, (after removing the batteries, modules and module covers). I then shook it out really good, until water stopped coming out. That took about ten minutes. After that, I put it in a dry place for a few days. The thing then worked fine. To do a better job, use distilled water, and dry in an oven set very very low, <140 F.
