Opening HP97 Battery Pack Grrrrrrr Message #1 Posted by Steve on 5 May 1999, 9:55 p.m. A friend of mine has an HP97 with a battery pack that doesn't hold a charge any longer. How do I crack it open to replace the nicads? I assume they're C or sub-C size nicads inside?

I used the sub-C Replacement Ni-Cds from Radio Shack with the solder tabs already on the cells. It was a tight fit, the solder joints must not use much space, or you will have a hard time getting the plastic case back together around them. If Batteries Plus will do this for $20, it is well worth it.
