a fix for PINCHROLLERS!!!
Message #1 Posted by Scott Buckner on 16 Apr 1999, 8:15 p.m.

I have found a product called Re-Grip that cleans and revitalizes glazed, and hardened rubber parts. It is recommended for turntable drives, belts, and miniature slot car tires!

I think it may work well on card readers..

Mfd. by Rawn Co. Inc. and can likely be purchased at electronics supply stores.

The problem with the pinch rollers is that they turn to mush, not become brittle. The only solution is to find a replacement roller. Fortunately there are a couple of things that work. One is a particular diameter of model airplane fuel line and another is small 'O' rings ('the smallest you can find') available at some hardware stores, using two to make up the width.
